Tour Plan
Day 1 Antananarivo - Ampefy
The road to Ampefy stretches for about 125 km from Antananarivo. During this trip, you will drive along the first national road (RN1) for about 3 hours. The departure takes places in the morning, which allows you to arrive in Ampefy by lunch time. You will be transferred to your hotel first to check-in and will have lunch there.
Afternoon, discover the famous geysers of Ampefy. Actually, it is situated in the commune of Analavory in a village called Andranomandroatra (which literally means “foamy water”). To reach this village, you have to drive 22 km from Ampefy. The road is a bit bumpy but the destination absolutely deserves the detour.
The beauty of the geysers of Andranomandroatra resides in their unique landscape which features rocks and water jets. The site has a clay soil whose virtues are exploited to realize ultra-relaxing massages. You can also enjoy a shower under the waters that gush from the geysers or bathe in a naturally heated swimming pool.
Back to the hotel at the end of the day.

Day 2 Ampefy
Today morning, you will visit the Ilot de la Vierge which is a charming islet composed with green hills and flowery meadows. Its name is due to a remarkable statue of the virgin Mary which is placed on a high platform. The Ilot de la Vierge is also known as the navel of Madagascar as geographically, it is located at the center of the country.
After the visit, enjoy a picnic lunch by the lake Itasy. Then, you can spend the afternoon through various activities (boat trip, hike around the lake…).

Day 3 Ampefy - Antananarivo
To end your stay in Ampefy, you will have a day excursion in the most famous place of the region: the Lily’s waterfalls. In the past, this site was called “Antafofo”. Its actual name is due to a legend which tells about the story of a young girl who laid down her life there while she was playing in the cascade.
Nowadays, Lily’s waterfalls is one of the most appreciated tourist sites thanks to its captivating landscape.
The back trip to Antananarivo will take place in the afternoon.
